Be a trail surgeon.

“Rock Solid” is not a term usually used to describe a nimble, featherweight XC race bike, but it’s perfectly fitting for the Scalpel 29. With its ultra stiff-and-smooth Lefty fork, BallisTec carbon construction and ECS-TC pivots, the Scalpel is the most efficient pedaling and and precise handling XC weapon out there.

SCALPEL 29 is:

  • The most refined full suspension cross country bike in the world.
  • Engineered to slice tight switchbacks with its 29er Race Geometry.
  • So efficient it’s like buying fitness… legally.

Rider profile:

XC racers and all-day riders looking for an edge when things get rough.

TECHNOLOGIES

  • TRAVEL
    100mm front and rear.
  • SUPERLIGHTWEIGHT DESIGN
Available in BallisTec Carbon or SmartFormed Alloy versions. Add in System Integration of the Lefty fork, OPI stem/steerer and Hollowgram cranks and you get a complete bike weight our competitors can only dream of.
  • ECS-TC SYSTEM
A clamped, 15mm thru axle in the shock linkage eliminates flex and play, providing unmatched center-stiffness for optimum control and steering precision.
  • 29’er RACE GEOMETRY
The combination of a steeper-than-average head angle and super short chainstays gives the Scalpel 29’er a similar wheelbase and trail to our 26’er bikes for ultra sharp, responsive handling.
  • ZERO-PIVOT SEATSTAYS
Through precise carbon lay-up, the stays are designed to flex vertically while remaining extremely stiff laterally and torsionally. This enhances suspension performance without affecting power delivery. Like the Jekyll, the alloy versions get ECS-TC double bearings in the dropout pivots in place of Zero-Pivot stays for smooth performance.
  • PRESSFIT, FULL CARBON BB30
Oversized, press-fit BB30 and full carbon shell guarantees zero bottom bracket flex no matter what your power output is.

Comments about Scalpel 29 Carbon Team:

I was riding the first generation of the scalpel 1 29er. My new bike is the team model of the same bike. I was not sure if this bike would be much of an improvement over the first generation bike. How wrong I was. With the dual lock out and the carbon wheels, this bike sprints like a road bike. It has the same great handling of my first scalpel, with improved speed and shifting performance. If you are looking for a great handling super fast bike, you will love this rig!!
