Orvieto (TR), 12th January 2014_Marco Aurelio Fontana is 2014 best Italian cyclocross rider.

In Orvieto today he won his seventh national title ahead of Enrico Franzoi (20") and Elia Slvestri (30"). Prorider launched the decisive attack with three laps to go and ended up winning his twelfth Italian Championship between cyclocross and mountain bike. «I love the tricolor jersey, so I am delighted to be able to wear it for another year. It's not easy to confirm to be the strongest when everybody attack you, but the path was technical and my legs were good so at the end I made it once again» said Cannondale Factory Racing rider.

From tomorrow Marco Aurelio Fontana is going to focused one hundred percent on preparing the upcoming mountain bike season with training camps and materials tests. «I would like to thank the team, our technical partners and all the supporters who have been next to me in the few cyclocross races I've raced this winter. I'm sorry not to be at the start of the next World Championship, but for 2014 I chose to concentrate on the mtb goals so I have to work in this direction. I wish good luck to the Italian National Cyclocross Coach Fausto Scotti and all my National team-mates, which I'm sure will behave well in Hoogerheide».
