Marco Fontana and Manuel Fumic are half way through their first ever Absa Cape Epic Mountain Bike Stage race, a complete new terrain for the XCO specialists.

The teams goal was to get experience on new ground and in this very special and hard race for future appearances. Good and well planned training for the upcoming XCO race season” also was high on the goals list. Being half way through the race Manuel Fumic says:” It is an unbelievable experience. Sleeping in a camper for a week in one of the most beautiful areas of the world, getting up at 5 and racing against 1200 riders... mindblowing.”

Marco Fontana added:” We came here with several goals and i can not remember when it was so much fun to reach the goals. The trails are amazing and the athmosphere is something you can not describe with words. Every Mountainbiker has to do it once in his life. I am sure i will come back.”

The outcome for Fumic and Fontana so far is great. 3rd in the prologue and 2nd on stage and sitting in 5th overall is far beyond expectation already.
