Cross. Functional.

A supremely versatile bike, the CAADX cyclocross bikes demonstrate their racing heritage with CAAD10 and SuperX inspired tube shapes, SAVE stays and race-bred geometry while rack and fender mounts and a slightly more upright position expand its usability.

CAADX is:

  • Race on Sunday, commute on Monday. Race performance meets functional versatility.
  • Light, stiff and comfortable - Cannondale’s aluminum expertise at work.
  • Precise and stable handling, with a comfortable riding position thanks to its Relaxed Race geometry.
  • Equipped with disc brakes on some models for all-weather power and control.

Rider Profile

With its mix of high performance and durability, CAADX is perfect for cyclocross racers, fast commuters, winter training, or general rough-road riding.

TECHNOLOGIES

  • Relaxed Race Geometry
The CAADX has a slightly taller head tube and slightly slacker head tube angle than the SuperX, providing a more upright position and stable handling.
  • SAVE Stays
The flattened shape and refined butting of the stays offer significant vertical compliance for comfort and control over rough surfaces, while remaining laterally rigid for solid power transfer and confident handling.
  • Smooth Welds
A true smooth weld, rather than the sand, putty, and paint “smooth welds” of our competition. Cannondale’s trademark double-pass smooth weld technology eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally-welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames.
  • Taper-Butted Tubes
Like the legendary CAAD frames of the past, the CAADX features 6061 aluminum which has been taper-butted and heat-treated to a T6 hardness. The smooth transitions provided by taper-butting eliminate the internal stress risers of traditionally-butted frames, again allowing a lighter, stronger frame.
  • Full Rear Rack/Fender Mount and Front Fender Mounts
Rack and fender compatibilty makes the CAADX ready for duty as a fast commuter or winter training rig.
  • Disk brake equipped
The top model comes with disk brakes for all-weather power and control.

Comments about cannondale CAADX Disc 5 105:

In the interest of full disclosure, I'm a little new to road biking. I grew up mountain biking and always really preferred running to biking, but recently I decided I wanted to try something a little different. I decided on this particular bike because I wanted something I could commute with, ride hard on the weekends and potentially start getting into racing with. At the same time, I also really liked the idea of the CAADX being rugged enough to take on some of the more gravely, pot hole, and frost heave ridden streets of midcoast Maine.

I finally picked it up last week, and have barely spent a day off it. I haven't really gone any farther than 40 miles per ride, but I'm already in love!!! Its comfortable, its light, it shifts super easy, it flies on the hills and I've had no trouble at all riding over rough terrain! I have absolutely zero complaints so far and I highly recommend taking it for a test ride.

This bike was purchased as a winter trainer, and it has not only served its intended purpose but is providing dollops of fun in the process. Invest in some Gore Alp-X, get on this bike and you are good to go no matter the weather. I have had absolutely glorious rides through driving snow, sleet, slush... pretty much everything that winter has on offer, and this bike has performed flawlessly. Tremendous grip and handling, and the disc bikes have been great. For what you get this bike is great value for money, and anyone who thinks that cycling is a 3 season sport should give one of these a try and see what they've been missing.

I commute 20 miles a day and ride on the weekends.

Plus points: 105 drivetrain is awesome, disc brakes are super for the commute and towing my kids around, geometry is super comfortable, bike is much faster than a hybrid, love the eyelets for fenders and rack, tires are very stable; all in all a very fast, comfortable, and capable commuter.

Don't really have anything negative to say about it. I just love the ride.

This is my first cross bike.

I am a mtn biker at heart with a few road bikes. I have always thought that cross bikes are cool, but with the canti brakes I always thought they are kinda old school. I know that road bikes will all soon have disc brakes and I saw this CAADX with disc brakes and ordered it that day.

My plan was to make it a road going bike with disc brakes, but it is better as a cross bike! In fact after riding it I think a cross bike may just be that one bike quiver. I can ride smooth single track, pavement and light touring, this bike does it all.

As a recreational rider this bike will never replace my RZ120, but it can replace all my other bikes!

This is the bike I have been waiting for. I think the fact that disc brakes are now common on cross bikes means we will see the cross explosion we have been waiting for!

                                Great Deal
                                Looks Great
                                Rides Nice
Is super Tall for the Size!
