“I came direct from two weeks at altitude training in Livigno, and wanted to use the National Championships as a test for the World Cup finals and also for the Olympic race in three weeks. I went my own speed and tried to push on a high level all race long, just to simulate the distance of the World Cups once more. It felt great and it also was a good last test for the equipment. On Tuesday I will head to Val d Isere for the World Cup finals and then the 4 year goal is right there. The Olympics. I feel ready and look forward to the Games in London,” Fontana said.

Fontana raced his CFR-tuned single chainring F29 to defend his national title.
