Liquigas-Cannondale's Peter Sagan scored big in the first stage of the Amgen Tour of California in Santa Rosa. The young superstar chased back after a late flat tire with just ten km to go only to be presented with another challenge with three km left, when teammate Ted King was struck by a swerving rider and taken down. Sagan, who was on King's wheel, narrowly missed the crash and found Daniel Oss to drive him to the front. At 250m to go, Sagan started his massive sprint and took the victory, his fourth of the year and fourth in the Tour of California. -

Moreno Moser Dominates in Frankfurt!
With a final strong and decisive move with 800 meters to go, Moreno Moser took the win at the Rund um den Finanzplatz Eschborn-Frankfurt, a 200 kilometer race in the German city. The Liquigas-Cannondale neopro attacked from a breakaway group including teammate Dominik Nerz (second-place), Martin and Firsanov, which broke away with 15 kilometers to go.

Sagan Third At Amstel Gold
Peter Sagan knew that the Amstel Gold Race course suited him, and knew that he couldn't waste his good form from the cobbled classics. Evidence of this was shown on the Cauberg, the last côte of the Amstel Gold Race: with one burst, Sagan was launched towards the finish but with just meters to the line, Gasparotto and Venendert came around him. Sagan crossed third and took his place on the podium.

Sagan Scores Big In De Panne
Today was a victorious day for Liquigas-Cannondale in Belgium. Peter Sagan secured another win (his third this season, and number 23 since turning pro) in the first stage of the Three Days of De Panne (201 km from Middelkerke to Oudenaarde) by beating former Liquigas teammate Jacopo Guarnieri, and current teammate Fabio Sabatini over the line in a photo finish. This is the team’s fourteenth win of 2012.

Nibali Wins Tirreno-Adriatico!
Vincenzo Nibali is the winner of the 2012 Tirreno-Adriatico. Thanks to a huge ride in the final time trial in San Benedetto del Tronto, the Sicilian made up the six second gap to overnight leader Chris Horner and the single second to ex-teammate Roman Kreuziger, the rival he most feared. At the finish, Nibali crossed the line in ninth place overall, twenty seconds faster than the American and twenty seven faster than the Czech.
