Manuel Fumic turned his season around at the 2013 MTB World Championships in Pietermaritzburg, RSA by winning Bronze in the Team Relay with his German team and silver in the prestigious Elite XCO race. After breaking his collarbone at the first World Cup in Germany, Manuel went through a stress and painful rehab, but proved to be a true fighter coming back strong when it really counted. Finishing only 7 seconds off gold, Fumic showed his class once more and entertained the huge crowd at the same time. Team colleague Marco Aurelio Fontana won a Gold medal with Italy in the Team Relay, He crashed hard and had to go to the tech zone to get his bike fixed, but still managed to finish 11th.
In the U23 race Anton Cooper finished 4th in his first U23 year. His teammate Keegan Swenson finished a strong 18th.
Next race up for CFR is the World Cup in Hafjell/Norway in 2 weeks time.
