SMOOTH & LIGHT WEIGHT

When it comes to creating the perfect ravel on a mountain fork,
we believe that Progress=convention disrupted.

Five things are certain

  1. Suspension is pointless if you're travel is interrupted.
  2. Smoother travel means intuitive response to what you're riding.
  3. Rolling is better than sliding.
  4. No friction = no stiction
  5. There is a better way than what convention dictates. Always question the status quo.

Why Lefty technology works

  1. Less friction: The Lefty uses 88 needle bearings. The use of needle bearings requires less surface area to make the telescope perform smoothly and efficiently. This is accomplished through rolling vs. sliding and results in less friction. Less friction means smoother travel, pure and simple. Compare that with conventional forks that use bushings in their stanchions. These bushings have more contact with the sliding part of the scope. This causes friction. Friction is bad.

  2. Less stiction: By using 88 needle bearings (sets of 22 sandwiched between 4 races), we put a "square peg in a round hole" which provides superior torsional stiffness. This results in the elimination of static-friction, or "stiction". Ingenious. Again, compare that with conventional forks that use two stanchions. Two stanchions twist independently under torsional stress. This causes static-friction or "stiction". Stiction sucks...literally.
