Welcome to the Alps
Our guides will greet you in Grenoble and shuttle you to your lovely alpine hotel, Chalet Mounier, in the high perch of Les Deux Alpes. We’ll start out with the essentials: bike fitting, safety talk and map review. Then, we’ll hop on our bikes and descend through hidden roads to the base of l’Alpe d’Huez. Ride up the steep curves surrounding Bourg d’Oisons where you’re rewarded with stunning views before looping back to the base of the Les Deux Alpes. Our final 10-kilometer climb back to the hotel will be a primer for the days to come. Tonight we dine at an altitude of 1,650m in Le P’tit Polyte, or the hotel restaurant, where they serve up delectable local specialties perfect for refueling before the next day’s challenges

Climbing L’Alpe d’Huez
Today, the Tour makes its way from Besancon to Oyonnax, a relatively flat stage north of where we are based. We’ll depart to test our legs up the legendary l’Alpe D’Huez. Can you reach the peak in an hour? Can you survive the 14 kilometers at 7.9%? Tackle this monster of a col and then descend the Col de Sarenne, an area still never before tackled by the Tour de France. Along the way we’ll stop for a re-energizing and delicious picnic lunch amongst all the natural beauty that surrounds us. After one more climb up to Les Deux Alpes, we’ll enjoy another delicious meal at our favorite local restaurant in les Deux Alpes.

One Day, Two Climbs
Excitement is in the air as the Alpine villages prepare to receive le Tour! We’ll challenge ourselves today as we set out to conquer two of the most famous climbs: Col de la Croix de Fer and the Col du Glandon. Ride through the tight valley of Col de la Croix de Fer, surrounded by waterfalls of melting alpine snow flowing from the mountains above. Once we reach the valley, we’ll climb the Col du Glandon, with its roads decorated in graffiti from the past years’ tours. This evening, a shuttle will transfer us back to the hotel before heading out for a night on your own in the charming town of les Deux Alpes.

We head out for an early morning ride through the crowds of thousands of spectators that have descended upon the tiny village in hopes of catching a glimpse of the riders. We’ll join the Cannondale Pro Cycle team to watch the field charge to the top of this extraordinary climb. Experience the finish of this epic stage from your front row seat as the leaders set out to gain valuable seconds. Meet your favorite Cannondale riders before descending back down the hill, where our shuttle will be waiting to take us to Hotel Anova, our home for the remainder of the trip. Crossing the Finish Line
Today we set out early to ride up the Col d’Izoard, voted as one of the Alp’s most beautiful climbs. Along the way, thousands of cyclist and fans will line the roads before the peloton arrives! This stage was host to many great duels in the 1950s between the legendary Italian Fausto Coppi and the French great Louison Bobet. We’ll continue up to the finish in Risoul to meet the Cannondale team as the riders cross the line after two days in the Alps! Return to Briancon via transfer or enjoy the optional extra ride as we cycle up the valley.
