Cannondale’s Winningest Worlds
A Flanders Classic for the road World Championship
The 2021 World Championships in Flanders proved to be a weekend to remember forever, as Cannondale claimed the most successful Road World Champs in our 50-year history. The most consistent bike of the weekend, SuperSix Evo was ridden to the gold medal by Elisa Balsamo in the women’s elite race and to bronze in the men’s race with Michael Valgren, while Neilson Powless impressed in fifth. With just a week before the next race, the Queen of the Classics, we set to work preparing a very special bike to celebrate the new World Champion.
As the centennial edition of the road World Championships, Flanders proved the perfect host – serving up an irreplicable atmosphere for riders and fans alike. The winding roads were lined with fans waving the flags of the world as their heroes raced across the challenging circuits. Few can throw a party like the Belgians as the hosts proved to be passionate instigators of rousing cheers and celebrations. With Fladrien Lions waving overhead, the racers put on a show we won’t soon forget. Take a journey through the weekend with our gallery below.
