I researched several bikes before I purchased this one. I would like to add that I am an avid bike rider. I have a large; the bike ways 32 lbs. if anyone is wondering. Aesthetically, the bike is very nice. I am not impressed with the weight of the bike, but it is not a concern for me. I would like to caution people about the wheels. They are not very strong, so I would not attempt any tricks on the bike. I did a couple 180s while riding the bike and bent wheel beyond repair. With that being said, 29ERS are not the type of bike you want to do tricks on because the wheels are susceptible to bend, due to the size of the wheel. Also, I believe the derailleur is bent already, and folks I have owned this bike for two months and the bike only has 50 miles on it. Long story short, for over $800 after taxes I expected more quailty than in the TRAIL 29ER 5

I shopped around before purchasing a mountain bike. I really liked the look of the specialized hardrock disk sport but the bike didnt feel right for me. The Bike that felt best and rode best in MY opinion is the cannondale Trail 5 29er. For what I am using this bike for (recreation) its perfect! It's very smooth and really comfortable. I went with the Large frame and the bike feels really sturdy. I convinced my brother to buy one too.

Use it for commuting and hill races. Already won me two. 29" tires are the real deal. Can get very fast once you get it going. Breaks really well for its size. Used it overseas in hot tropical countries like India. Couldnt be more happy with its performance.
Not too great for shorter people. i.e less than 165 cms.
