Comments about cannondale TRAIL SL 29ER 1:

I go biking around my neighborhood and on gravel roads, my average bike ride is around 9mi with about a 3-400ft elevation. I never knew biking could be this much enjoyment before I bought this bike, the gears are easy and exact. the 29in wheels make a world of difference, and not to talk about the brakes, I can without issue pull both brakes hard at 30mi/h and stop completely without feeling and risk of imbalance, or danger.

My last bike was a Haro bike, which was ok, but this bike just took my biking interest to the next level

Not too happy with Jumbo version

Comments about cannondale TRAIL SL 29ER 1:

Bought the Jumbo version of this bike 9 months ago (am 6ft 7 and 224 lb). The frame broke at the joint of top tube and seat tube after 5 months. Frame replaced within a week, which was great! But now the new frame is making the same creaking noises as the first frame in the weeks before it broke (tried original seatpost and Cane Creek) and it will probably break within a few more weeks too (flagged this with my LBS). I'm afraid Cannondale built a Jumbo version of an L or XL bike without taking into account that buyers of these Jumbo bikes would be tall, heavy riders.

                A disappointed first-time C'dale buyer.

Comments about cannondale TRAIL SL 29ER 1:

I ride 2 to 3 times a week and put in about 10 to 20 miles of moderate to difficult single track each time I am out. I have owned the Trail SL1 29ER for 2 months and put over 250 miles on it.

This bike has some great features, frame is solid and light weight, derailleurs work well and are good quality, shifters are smooth, and the breaks are very solid and responsive.

Where Cannondale cut corners are on the hubs. The rear hub is a Shimano FH-RM66 which is one of the cheapest rear hubs money can buy; and it has shown it. The hub has failed on me twice now leaving me stranded miles from my car and the bike has spent weeks in the shop waiting for replacement parts (for the hub) causing me to miss two races this year.

What such a low end component is doing on this bike is beyond me and if you were to buy the SL1 I would immediately look into changing out this part (go ahead and add the cost of doing that to the cost of the bike too).

Bottom line is you can get better bikes for the same $, do your research.

This bike with these spec shows you don't have to spend 3000-10000$ to really get the pro feeling of riding a quality 29'er. It' so fast and the 29'er wheels just handles the trails smooth as butter. And there something great with the design, too. It's just nice to look at.

All I can say is I'm glad I ordered this bike.It was worth the wait.
This bike is beautiful. Just got to ride it home from the bike shop. Can't wait for my first ride on it tomorrow.
And the staff at the retailer I got it from are the best.
Biking keeps me sane and healthy.
The best investment I have made.

Picked up this bike last week and I love this bike! Glad I made the leap to the 29er. Very enjoyable climbing and on the downhills the bike is responsive and smooth.

I waited for this bike to be available for 2 months, I'm glad I waited its a real performer. Its fast stiff and rolls over everything, the breaks stop on a dime for what I see. I'm 6.6 and I purchased the Jumbo model and although it's a big frame it handles beautifully. Only thing that I changed out of the box was the platform pedals, I went with the Specialized Lo pro Mag 2 platform pedals (white).
