ALL NEW FRAME
Completely redesigned for 2013, the Trail SL frames have a new lighter-weight frameset modeled after our high-end Flash frames, new lighter dropouts and more exaggerated SAVE features. Lighter, Stiffer and Smoother.
1.5" HEAD TUBE
The oversized 1.5" head tube increases front end stiffness for better steering and control.
SMOOTH WELDS
Trademark double-pass smooth welds showcase Cannondale's aluminum frame mastery. Since we don't patch fill with putty and paint, our process eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames everywhere in the line.

Just got the 29er and although it took a few rides to get used to the larger wheels I see the overall benefits. It's fast and hard charging on single tracks and a great all around bike around home.

Comments about cannondale TRAIL SL 2:
i use this bike to train at least 5 days per week, alternating the type of lands, here in venezuela we have many places to take off a very nice mountain bike ride.
this bike has been a very good change for me, it has very good components and the weight is a bit usefull to train, even though i want to reduce the weight of it.
right now i´m a bit confused about the c1, c2, c3 and c4 (handlebars, seatpost, and stem) i wonder what is the difference between them (weight, material, etc) i want to reduce the weight of my bike and becasue of this lack of information i could not do it yet.
i´ve been searchin at this official website and stil dont find this information.
what does OPTIMIZED 6061 ALLOY means?? aluminum alloyed with what other material? and waht does optimized means? is there any difference between this frame and the ordinary trail 7, 6 and 5 bikes??

Comments about cannondale TRAIL SL 2:
I bike trails for fun, but I also commute every day. This bike's been awesome for dealing with the junky (or "technical") Houston roads. The biggest test: I got hit by an suv last week, and the only repairs I had to do were straightening out the handlebars and unbending a few gear teeth. This bike's a beast!

I have been mountain biking for years but have always ridden my dads old hand me down bikes, this year I could afford to buy my own new bike for the first time and after much research and test riding a good hand full of bikes (including 29ers) I chose the 26 trail sl2 and could not be happier, i ride every weekend and it outperforms many of my fellow riders bikes, i would highly recommend it

Comments about cannondale TRAIL SL 2:
I have the 2011 version of the Trail SL2. I love this bike. It is my first "real" mountain bike and it has been great. For the price this bike can't be beat. When I bought this bike in February of this year I weighed about 270 pounds and it handled my excess weight well. I have ridden about 1600 miles and counting and dropped to 220 pounds. The more miles I ride the more pounds I drop. This bike makes exercise and losing weight FUN! This bike can handle pretty much everything I have thrown at it, including my excess weight. The only thing I have had to replace is my chain which got pinched when I went over some rather large loose rocks. This bike is so fantastic I bought my wife one and recommend it to all my friends.
