DYAD RT2
The DYAD is really two different shocks in one: Elevate - a shorter travel shock tuned specifically for climbing and rolling terrain, and Flow - a linear, long travel shock tuned for aggressive descending.
ECS-TC SYSTEM
Clamped, 15mm thru-axles in the shock linkage and swingarm pivot, as well as double bearings at the rear dropouts eliminate flex and provide unmatched center-stiffness for complete control.
ATTITUDE ADJUST GEOMETRY
Switching to the Elevate mode on the DYAD reduces the sag point, which raises the BB and makes the head angle steeper for a quick, efficient feel. Flowmode drops the BB for a low center of gravity and super stable feel.

When I was first considering this bike I was concerned about how it would climb and if it would be manageable on less extreme XC trails; my first ride on the Claymore was a 6500ft climb followed by a 6500ft descent and all of my concerns were vaporized.
The rear shock is easy to setup and it works great, by switching the lever the rear shock changes from short stroke with a high spring rate to long stroke with lower spring rate. When in the climbing mode the rear shock has less sag and eliminates nearly all of unnecessary motion during pedaling. In the descend mode the rear shock has more sag with a long travel feeling. The rear shock works so well it feels like two separate coil shocks.
The chassis is a great balance of rigidity and compliance meaning you can charge the rock gardens, G-outs, and berms with confidence without the hand and feet numbing vibrations. The brakes are powerful and always have a positive feel; the stiff chassis keeps the bike stable and controllable under hard braking even in the steepest terrain.
It climbs and it descends, Cannondale really hit a homerun with this bike!

Comments about cannondale CLAYMORE 1:
I live in northern Idaho where we have a lot of gradient change amazing down hills with every type of dirt imaginable, from ungroomed chunky washed out rock to smooth fast loam, lots of jumps, gaps and drops. If you don't want to take 3 different bike with you to the hill just get a claymore or Jekyll. I am not as much of a fan of the Shimano match maker system as I am of the sram system but the lever feel of the the xt brakes make up for that by a long shot, i also changed the tires to a maxxis minion 2.3 foldable tubeless witch really made the bike pop. So if you like the adventure of getting lost in the woods with a bike that will climb, rip single track, bomb gaps and jumps then go down hilling at the local bike park this bike is it.
