Fantastic bike for advanced or beginner. If you are just getting in to biking or getting back in to biking this is the one. A little more pricey than the competition but well worth it. We are in our early 50's and want to stay active. The Quick 4's we purchased are comfortable, fast and make even the toughest hills no problem. Shifting takes some getting used to.

Comments about cannondale QUICK 4:
I have had this bike for 2 days and have 25 miles on it so far. I chose this bike because I have lower back problems and bum knee and this bike offers an upright riding position that is easy on the back. This bike is a big improvement over my last bike but it's not fair to compare the two since my last bike was an older mountain bike. So far, what I like about this bike is how light it is compared to what I'm used to. The bike is comfortable to ride and very responsive to steering imputs but not "twitchy". The shifts are crisp both on the upshifts and downshifts.

Comments about cannondale QUICK 4:
This bike was perfect, for me, because of the frame and fork quality. I wanted to build a bike that fit my needs without spending thousands of dollars. This platform is top notch and is completely upgradeable which by the way is neccessary for the level of ride you would expect from Cannondale. The crankset and bottombracket needs to be upgraded upon purchace and then move to the front and rear derailer. Rear cassette and derailures are dependent on what type of crank set you get. So you can upgrade one at atime if chosen correctly or go to the extreme and buy the entire drivetrain at once.

Comments about cannondale QUICK 4:
Last year I got this bike for my birthday in March. Once it was warm enough I was on the road. I got this to help me with biking merit badge. I had to do two 10miles, two15's, two 25's, and a fifty. The first day I tried to go 5 miles. There was no way I could do it. Pretty soon I was going 15 miles a day never going slower than 18 mph. All of it thanks to this bike. I am transformed by this bike. I like everything on this bike except the components. The front derailer is a pain to operate. The rear one was great, but after almost 1000 miles it has a hard time going from forth to fifth. That's probably an easy fix, but I don't know how to do it. Oh and I finished my 50 mile ride in just under 3 hours with a 30 minute stop at a dairy queen.

My wife gave me this bike as a gift for turning 50 and for the birth of our daughter. Suzanne (my wife) felt it was important for us and for our newly born daughter that we remain fit and in shape. I was a little skeptical about commuting in DC…but have to tell you, after a few times out I was hooked on this bike. It handles great; street, broken sidewalks, gravel, rain….I feel in control in almost all weather conditions – haven't tried it in snow. I look forward to the start and end of days. Actually, I go to work in a good mood, stay that way all day long and fell like a kid riding home. All around good bike, good deal; hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
P.S. Can't wait to go riding with my wife and daughter.

Comments about cannondale QUICK 4:
The jumbo frame with a extention for the headset is a great bike for a tall guy who wants to be more upright than a road bike for lower back comfort (6'-6" 230#). The frame and carbon fork absorbs shock for a comfortable ride. Great bike for daily exercise riding and hill climbing. Would make great cummuting bike if you can secure it. Will upgrade derailur set someday but not right now.

Comments about cannondale QUICK 4:
Wanted a new bike for an upcoming triathlon. I didn't want a traditional road bike in case it is my only triathlon, so the hybrid look and feel fits perfect. Will likely add aero bars for the race given it is 56 mi. I like riding on trails also. Looks and feels great!

Comments about cannondale QUICK 4:
Bought the Quick 4 for my wife to go along with mine. She loves it compared to the heavy hybrids we had. I upgraded the front dérailleur and shifters to Alivio on both and a noticeable improvement was realized. Regardless of components, it's all about the frame. That's why I own 2 CAAD 9's.

Merchant response: Thanks for being such a loyal Cannondale customer. Oh, you may want to bring your bike to a local Cannondale dealer to look at the front derailleur. And for the record, Cannondale does not support the practice of tipping livestock.
