The world's finest aluminum road racing machine.

SmartFormed 6069 Alloy Construction

A complex mix of hydroforming, mechanical shaping, taper-butting, double-pass smooth welding and heat treating, SmartForming is the most advanced aluminum construction in the world, for lighter, stronger frames.

Elite Race Geometry

Unlike much of the competition at these price points, the CAAD10 is a thoroughbred racer. Its geometry is virtually identical to our SuperSix EVO for razor-sharp cornering and aggressive race positioning.

SPEED SAVE Stays

The flattened shape and internal butting of the CAAD10's seat stays and chain stays allow them to flex vertically, but stay stiff laterally and torsionally. This lets the rear wheel track the ground, improving speed, cornering, grip and comfort.

Comments about cannondale CAAD10 BLACK INC.:

I delayed sending this review of the Cannondale CAAD10 Black Inc until I had dialed-in the fit and was able to ride at least 1,000 miles on it. I'm a 6'3", 220 lb rider. My last bike: carbon fiber, Campy Record. My favorite bike in the past was aluminum and I wanted to return to aluminum. The Cannnondale CAAD10 Black Inc. seemed the perfect choice.

The bike performs better than my expectations. It has a stable, mature feel that transfers confidence to the rider; very responsive, if not a little fidgety at first, compared to my previous carbon frame. And the bike CLIMBS! Even standing on the pedals at full exertion, the frame doesn't flinch. If you have hills where you train, this is the bike. As one might expect from an aluminum frame, acceleration is super. The CAAD10 doesn't soak up all the rough road vibration, true to it's aluminum hybrid, but the ride is pleasant and long rides haven't been more wearing than normal. Road feel is excellent. The frame will accept 25mm tires to smooth the ride further. I've used both 23mm and 25mm tires and didn't notice a significant difference in handling or speed.

Having used Campagnolo products for years, I can testify that the full Shimano DI2 group set is a pure delight. I was skeptical initially until I actually rode the bike and became used to the shifting mode (those who have used Shimano in the past will be comfortable immediately). I can only say that one must experience the DI2 to fully appreciate it. And the Black Inc. components are top notch: Ultegra DI2, Fizik Arione seat, Ultegra wheels, Schwalbe Durano tires, and FSA SL-K Lite crankset (can order either 53/39 or 50/34).

Finally, the bike is an understated beauty to behold. A flat black finish, smooth welds, a bare minimum of gold Cannondale and CAAD10 logos; and a gold stripe running down the rear of the seat tube, give the bike a stealthy, well finished appearance that requires attention when pulling up to the group ride. Bottom line: you'll like the CAAD10 Black Inc.

Comments about cannondale CAAD10 BLACK INC.:

My first contact to road bikes was my brother's bike, an old 1977 swedish 10 speed bike, sold in Brazil. Then I moved to MTBikes for about 20 years, but always envy my colleagues with ther speedy road bikes.
I was always looking for roadbikes and decided I want a Cannondale.
I investigate a lot and decided that what was right for me was an aluminum (I'm a heavy rider), plus no need to the said confort presented by the carbon fiber bikes, as I ride occasionally.
So the CAAD8 or CAAD10 would fit perfectly.
I have narrowed down to the CAAD10 105... but at the last moment there was a good offer on the wonderful CAAD10 Black Inc, so I got it.
I have the bike for only 3 days, but I was riding it the whole weekend in a bike track near home.
I'm impressed with the weight and handling.
I was afraid of the spokes on the Ultegra wheels not resisting the weight, but nope, they are strong and holds very well. Even when climb on the pedal, the bike just accelerates incredible. Nothing twisting, cracking or causing fear.
I recoment this bike in a heartbeat to anyone.
Thank you engineer at Cannondale for putting together this wonderful machine.

6/7/13 a nice big box showed up at my front door. Then Thursday took it out for a quick run around Snohomish Wash, everything but flat. Rode 30 miles with a touch over 2,220 ft elevation. First thoughts was this Black Rat is a Goat, loves to climb. Just has a solid feel and seems every bit of juice you put in the pedal goes straight to the black top.

Next ride was a 100 mile Redmond event, Flying Wheels ride. So is was under 4K elevation but still has a few nice climbs. Good cross of chip seal and blackttop. Now for starters I am going from a 2001 Colnago C40 full carbon, so yeah there is a tiny bit of more road feel, but in no way was it uncomfortable. My climbing just flat out is better on the Black Rat then the C40. I had fears of going in a down grade from the C40 to the Caad10 Black, not a chance.

I don't know if it is the BB30 or frame design or combo, but the bike will chew up miles and spit out hills. I have told my riding group this thing just wants to run.. Joy to ride and this is just out of the box, no upgrades. buy it ride it and smile all the way.

Comments about cannondale CAAD10 BLACK INC.:

I stared at the Black Widow as the sun was rising somewhere off in the distance. I eyeballed the gold accents on the matte black paint job as I ran my fingers along the sleek lines. I shifted to the big ring and then back to the little ring - just to hear the mechanical whirring of the Ultegra Di2 in action. Touching my new ride, looking at the beast...even TALKING about her got my heart racing. This was 12 hours after I picked her up.

30 minutes later, we were on the road riding to the ride 18 miles away. We had a century planned for today and I couldn't wait to test out my legs on The Black Widow. I was careful not to lay down too much torque as I didn't want the Duramo S's slipping out from the oil that sometimes accumulates on the surface of new tires. So instead, I decided to test The Widow's sturdiness. I sat up. At 15 mph, not so much as a wobble. I could tell this was going to be a good day.

We met up with the others and embarked on our ride. I glided along easily, never more than one or two mechanically-efficient and musically-pleasing shifts away from the perfect gearing ratio. Folks, I caution you. This bike is not for the faint of heart. This race-machine is not for those looking to remain at their current speed and/or fitness level. This thoroughbred is CERTAINLY not for those who are content with where they are in life. If, however, you fall into the small group of extraordinary cyclists, cyclists whose goals include winning, getting stronger, snagging KOM's, looking fresh-to-death and of course, being good fathers, husbands and sons...then this bike is for you. It will elevate your riding to the next level. It will strike a chord deep inside you upsetting all you know, aiding your metamorphosis into the man you know you want to be. The man you know you should be. The man you've been looking for an excuse to become. It transformed me.

After 6,500 feet of climbing, I decided to cut the ride short. The Black Widow's maiden voyage was planned to be a century+some - that is, 110 miles or so. Unfortunately, the shorter winter days have done quite a number on my desire to be on my bike. Until today. That means that my base mileage isn't what it once was...in August or September. With aching shoulders and screaming legs, I pulled off and rode a measly 88.5 miles, collapsing at home with a double cheeseburger.

To top it all off, I was wearing my team bibs which, on any ride lasting longer than 3.5 hours (or 4 hours, on a good day), leave nasty saddle sores DESPITE the most generous application of chamois cream from the leading manufacturers. In truth, I would lather up as if I were a bodybuilder preparing for his word-championships appearance - my taint would glisten in the sun, if it were exposed. Therefore, I fear I will not be riding The Black Widow tomorrow, but will have to wait until Tuesday to put in my next 5 hours.

I will leave you with a quote from the Hell of the East as a reminder that regardless of how dope your bike is, how incredibly fast it wants to be ridden or how breathtaking of a view it is sitting on your bed, we are all limited by our own choices. On Assos, his thoughts are:

"A superb saddle is nothing without a superb pad in your bibs."

After months of eyeballing this sexy black beauty, i finally ponied up and rode it home.

So light, so fast, sleek design. Rides unlike carbon (usually like riding a cinderblock), instead, its compliant, confortable, and unreal stiffness when climbing.

Your going to be shopping for a long time before you find a better value. Stop messing around this is it.
