Elite-race performance meets all-day comfort.

SAVE PLUS Full Carbon Fork

Offset dropouts allow the fork blades to have the vertical compliance of a shallow rake fork, without sacrificing the Synapses nimble, precise handling. Refined carbon lay-up and SAVE shaping further enhance the forks vertical compliance.

SAVE PLUS Rear Stay Micro-Suspension System

A directional carbon lay-up and exaggerated vibration-absorbing tube shapes give the SAVE PLUS chain stay/seat stay system 13% more vertical deflection than the previous version, while actually improving the frames lateral and torsional stiffness.

Performance Geometry

Compared with our Elite race geometry, the Synapse features a 2-2.5 cm taller head tube, slightly relaxed head angle and longer wheelbase for a more upright riding position and a stable yet lively feel. It's confidence-inspiring, relaxing and it avoids the sluggish feel and awkward handling of many road bikes.

Comments about cannondale SYNAPSE CARBON 5 105:

The Cannondale Synaspe 105 is a sweet ride! It handles well and goes like crazy. It's been said in other reviews that it seems to "float" over the road and I have to agree. I also can't believe that my hands don't go numb.
It shifts very smoothly and the brakes are awesome.

Was going to use the oem tires until they wore out, but had a flat the second day, now on Michelin. Even the saddle seems to be working for me, but I may switch that down the road.

It climbs very well, even with a bald, overweight guy driving! Not sure what else I can say, except give it a try you will like it!

Comments about cannondale SYNAPSE CARBON 5 105:

Just a little background: I'm 67, starting ride again 1 year ago after a 20 year hiatus. Went to the lbs and purchased a Quick 5 which was all alloy and less expensive components. Replaced the seat, tires and rear derailuer fairly quickly. (No pun intended). Rode this bike for a little over 1500 miles.
So started riding with more experienced riders and it quickly became apparent that I needed a new bike. Enter the Synapse. My original thought was to go with the 6, but my wife told me to buy one that "will last". So I upgrade one big step. Rode the competitions bikes and settled on the Synapse 5.
The Synapse Carbon 105 is very comfortable, fast and agile. My hands don't hurt because it rides so smooth. The fit and finish is absolutely beautiful and the the oem saddle actually works for me.
At this point I truly can't come up with any"cons", I can say that it is a perfect bike for me.
Thanks Canonndale for a really great product!

I upgraded from a hybid to the 2012 Synapse Carbon 105 about a year ago. It is simply fun to ride, maintaining speed and absorbing routine road bumps. It is lightweight and the components work well, but I had an early flat tire and switched to a more durable tire.

Bought a Quick4 and quickly became obsessed with getting a road bike. Opted for more "relaxed" model as I don't race.

So far in three weeks I've covered almost 300 miles and so far, I'm very pleased.

Quite a bit of clicking from handlbars after a few rides, but I've loosened and reclamed the handlbars and it seems to be OK now.

Enjoy the ride of this bike on long rides on weekends and commuting to work. Looks great. Ride is smooth. Shifting is smooth. Right gear ratio is always available: whether pedaling to go top speed down hills or staying in the seat on hard climbs. This is a great bike.

Comments about cannondale SYNAPSE CARBON 5 105:

My first Cannondale was a Supersix so maybe i am biased. Because of an accident i needed to switch my riding style. The supersix was fast! setup right that bike would just keep on going only your back might not let you go as long as you wanted.

Welcome life on the Synapse. I feel as though I can go for hours and do. Very comfortable bike because of the position but also because of the frame. I feel very little of the road I am riding on. Very little vibration coming through the frame. From the second you push off and get out of the saddle the Synapse reacts - fast. There is no feeling that you are on a plush bike. I do feel that the bike could be more compliant. There are times when i get out of the saddle and I dont feel the stiffness i felt in the Supersix. That being said i am not riding a supersix.

The value of a Cannondale is right on par with other bikes in its class if not better (ie. Treks Domane and Specialized Roubaix). I did make a couple of upgrades that i planned on making on my supersix - FSA SLK crank, Mavic Ksyrium Elite wheels.

All in all I am impressed with the bike and look forward to my first fondo on May 19th.

Comments about cannondale SYNAPSE CARBON 5 105:

I bought a Synapse Carbon 105 in November 2011 to take part in the Deloitte Ride Across Britain in September 2012. In 2,500 miles the total list of work needed has cost about £100 demonstrating the bike's reliability:
                                    1. Taking the seat post out to re-apply the liquid sandpaper stuff when it got a bit squeeky
                                    2. New tyres - I got some armoured ones as the ones it came with were puncturing once a week (roughly every 100 miles).
                                    3. New brake pads after 1,500 miles
                                    4. New chain after 1,000 miles
                                    5. Service after 1,500 miles

I'm now due for the next service/chain and will probably need to replace the rear cassette (which is normal for the mileage).

The RAB was a 1,000 mile nine day endurance event. The bike was, simply, brilliant. Extremely good at absorbing the road shocks, felt solid and responsive and, most importantly, I didn't have a single mechanical problem. I would recommend to anyone as a great entry-level carbon bike when you're starting to get a bit serious about lycra.

Just got my new bike this week from Cycle City Bike & Running in Parkville, MO. Great folks! Finally got out for a good ride today. Solid components, good ride, very nice performance. Couldn't possibly be more happy.
