The cure for the common 29’er.

The F in F29 doesn’t stand for F-ing Fast, but it probably should. Fast because of the F29 series’ proprietary SPEED SAVE micro-suspension technology, which keeps speeds high and fatigue low, and their ultralight and ultra-stiff frames which ensure that all those precious watts get converted into race wins.

F29 IS:

  • Super stiff laterally and vertically compliant thanks to SPEED SAVE stays and BallisTec carbon construction.
  • A tight corner destroyer with its 29er race geometry and super precise handling Lefty fork.
  • So light you can eat that cupcake guilt-free.
  • Rider profile:

For racers and discerning hardtail purists seeking for the pinnacle of 29er handling and light weight.

    TECHNOLOGIES

    THREE GREAT FRAME OPTIONS

    • F29 Hi-MOD: High modulus BallisTec Carbon. At just 1050 grams for a large frame, the F29 Hi-Mod is in a class of it’s own.
    • F29 Carbon: 1200 grams. By using a higher percentage of intermediate modulus fibers, we bring BallisTec carbon technology to more price points, while still staying lighter than the competition.
    • F29 Alloy: SmartFormed alloy brings so much performance, you’ll forget it’s not carbon.

    • 29’ER RACE GEOMETRY
By utilizing super short chainstays, a lower BB and a steeper head angle the F29’er Carbon has the same sharp handling and lively feel of our 26” race bikes, only with the roll-over-anything ability of bigger wheels.
    • LEFTY SYSTEM INTEGRATION
29’ers love Lefty. It’s true. Its unmatched stiffness and light weight make an even bigger difference on the big wheeled bikes.
    • SPEED SAVE VIBRATION ELIMINATION TECHNOLOGY
SPEED SAVE rear stays allow the rear wheel to track the ground, improving control and reducing fatigue.
    • CONTINUOS CARBON
On carbon models, stiffening fibers run uninterrupted from the head tube to the rear dropouts to increase overall frame stiffness while retaining compliance for exceptional ride-feel.

Moroko, funny that you mention that. I've been riding mine for about 6 months and I've has issues with the rear derailleur as well. I found for a while, almost every time I went on a 1-2 hour trail ride, once I got into the trail, my derailleur would get messed up and I'd have trouble getting in and out of gears. Once it was so bad that it just kept skipping gears, wouldn't shift to smaller gears, and if you did get it to shift, it's bounce back to a larger gear.

So I kept getting derailleur adjustments. Finally, like the 4th time I brought the bike into my shop, I asked what they could do about it, it was really chronic. They ended up bending the derailleur to a different angle. It's been better since they've done that. But that's how it was stock and it wasn't quite right, had a lot of issues with it.

Other than that, I totally 100% love this bike.

Comments about cannondale F29 Carbon 2:

Well, I ride my bike almost everyday for almost 2 hours. i have to say that the bike is an excellent bike but I had some issues. First of all, when it was new, i was riding it and suddendly the rear derailleur got stuck in to the rear tire destroying the spokes and the derailleur of course. The shop gave me a new deraillure and everything was covered by the guarantee, but the thing is that the bike was faulty because the factory ensambled the deraillure in the wrong way. The brakes started to squeak and it is very uncomfortable. The shifters after 1 year are not working like at the begining same as the brake levers. The only thing else that I have to say is that shimano components are tougher in terms of durability.
