Jungle. Gym.

The All-New Hooligan is built for the demands of urban jungle, adding fun to any excursion. Its stout frameset and snappy handling make it a blast to rip through city streets, and its compact size and little wheels make it easy to carry up to that 4th floor walk-up.

Hooligan is:

  • The perfect way to get around the city and have fun doing it.
  • Stiffer, stronger and better performing than a folding bike.
  • Compact enough to live in small city apartments.

Rider profile:

City dwellers looking for a fun, funky, functional way to get around the city (and who don’t mind answering the constant flood of questions from curious admirers).

TECHNOLOGIES

  • 20” Wheels
20” wheels accelerate faster and, combined with a lower standover height, make this a more compact, easily stored bike for the small apartment confines of the city.
  • Wide Sizing Compatibility
The combination of low frame, tall head tube, and custom extra-long seatpost lets the Hooligan accommodate most sizes of rider and all styles of riding.
  • Delta V Frame
Our Delta V frame configuration is super strong and stiff, and its improved standover gives riders plenty of clearance for agile street moves.
  • Lefty Solo Fork
Forged from a single piece of aluminum, the radical single-sided fork not only looks cool, but is extremely stiff and strong thanks to its OPI one-piece construction.
  • Smooth Welds
A true smooth weld, rather than the sand, putty, and paint “smooth welds” found on others’ bikes, Cannondale’s trademark double-pass smooth weld technology eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames.

              Comments about Hooligan 1:

This bike can't be beat for the urban rider. If you live in NYC, Chicago or in any densely packed area this is no question a bike to have. I take it any stores and don't have the problem I have with my usual bike of running into things.

The bike is only a bit of a challenge up steep inclines cause of the gearing and small wheels. Other than than its very fun, you seem to be on top of something that disappears beneath you vs a regular 700c wheel bike. I have not had any issues with comfort on the bike, just added some bar ends. As for the color the bumblebee is ugly in pics but in person its very nice, completely different looking in person.

I wonder what Cannondale will do to improvise this? This is a great bike so unique.

              Urban speed rocket

                    Comments about Hooligan 1:

The Hooligan is nothing but an excellent urban speed rocket, with very fast and agile handling, and is exceptionally good for cities. The frame is stiff, and in combination with the small wheels, makes the bike's acceleration very fast. The small wheels, although funny at first, makes perfect sense in urban places where quick 90 or 180 turning is frequently needed to get from point A to B in as short time as possible.
The disadvantages of the bike is also its advantages, stiffness and agileness, makes long (+1 hour) rides a bit uncomfortable. The Lefty fork is stiff and numbing, and I wish it could be of carbon instead.
Upgrades to do for increased comfort are: carbon steerer, carbon seat post, (saddle), and least but not last for a commuter, fenders. :)
I highly recommend this bike for (-1h) urban / city commuters.

Other than the bumblebee color scheme, it hasn't changed from last year - which is a good thing, why mess with perfection? The MSRP has lowered by $120 (Yay!!!) I'm going to order early - last year's production had sold out by March.
