The affordable superbikes.

Some of the most critically acclaimed bikes we make, our Trail and Trail SL bikes are packed full of features trickled down from years racing on the World Cup. They are proof that a great riding, long lasting bike doesn’t need to break the bank. Available in both 26” and 29” wheel options, there’s a Trail for every rider.

  • Race-inspired technology and features derived directly from their more expensive siblings.
  • Lightweight and reliable.
  • Incredible performance. Remarkable price.

Rider profile:

TRAIL bikes are for mountain bikers looking for an affordable upgrade or beginning riders looking for a first bike that’s a cut above.

  • 1.5” HEAD TUBE on TRAIL SL
As an upgrade over Trail, our Trail SL line gets a 1.5” head tube which increases front end stiffness for better steering and control.
Trademark double-pass smooth welds showcase Cannondale’s aluminum frame mastery. Since we don’t patch fill with putty and paint, our process eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames everywhere in the line.
Optimized seat stay and chain stay shaping provides vertical compliance for a more comfortable ride with no loss in lateral rigidity.
Like the F29, the Trail SL 29 and new Trail 29 have super short chainstays, a relatively low BB and steep head angle, which give them point-and-shoot handling and a lively feel, but with the stability and roll-over-anything ability of bigger wheels.
For 2014, the Trail gets a new lighter weight frame. In addition to a more refined look, it features a 27.2mm seat post for lighter weight and better trail vibration damping.

Comments about cannondale Trail SL 29 2:

The Toe overlap on the 29" small frame is severally tight, if you want to put paniers on the back you'll deal with your heals rubbing into the bags. just over one inch clearance when wheel is turned to edge of smallest pedal I can find (which doesn't matter cause if you would like panniers on for your ride, You'll be getting Toe overlap on front tire as well as heels into panniers. Not sure why small frame was even released? would have to wear size 3 women's shoe to avoid Toe overlap =(... EXTREMELY hard to find a rear wheel rack that would clear back tire? I'm at a loss as what to do with bike, still waiting for Cannondale to return email addressing geometry. ? wish there was a way to call and get answers?? Been a Cannondale Mountain bike rider since 1989!

I am a daily intermediate trail rider. I did lots of research and test rides before my purchase of my trail SL 2. The bike is comfortable and has great components compared to other bikes in this price range.I ride some pretty harsh desert trails and the bike is very tough! No complaints! I highly recommend this bike for a beginner or avid rider!

Comments about cannondale Trail SL 29 2:

I first discovered this bike when my girlfriend rented a 2013 model while on vacation last summer. For two weeks we rode trails in central Oregon and this bike impressed us both. Its lightweight, sturdy frame and the obvious attention paid to outfitting reliable, quality components made for a seriously amazing mountain bike.
My girlfriend was new to the sport and loved it so much we decided to purchase our rental, and I decided to forgo purchasing the dual suspension trek I rented. Instead I went for the 2014 Trail Sl 2 and I couldn't be happier.
Cannondale somehow came up with a lighter, faster bike than before. One of my favorite new features is the remote lockout. As someone who rides on and off the road this is a time saving, safe way to optimize your ride.
Overall, I don't think there's a better bike for the price anywhere.

I'm driving in my spare time. Every year, approximately 5000 km.
                                In the area of mounting:

The Komfor (suspension) is pronounced by the Kompackten Customized frame building. The grip of the tires is excellent in wet ground. The circuit works precisely and very quickly ready for use even under load. The brakes can be precisely metered and grab Punk with a need for immediate and reliable.

                                Touring in the area:

The comfortable suspension in touring shows Duch area a very good performance. Even on long trips (over 100 miles) the load on the bike is low. Due to the Übersetuzung is a high speed, such as in racing bikes not possible (and not intended).

For this bike I can only give a recommendation for purchase. The works price performance ratio is unbeaten.
