Cross. Functional.

A supremely versatile bike, the CAADX cyclocross bikes demonstrate their racing heritage with CAAD10 and SuperX inspired tube shapes, SAVE stays and race-bred geometry while rack and fender mounts and a slightly more upright position expand its usability.

CAADX is:

  • Race on Sunday, commute on Monday. Race performance meets functional versatility.
  • Light, stiff and comfortable - Cannondale’s aluminum expertise at work.
  • Precise and stable handling, with a comfortable riding position thanks to its Relaxed Race geometry.
  • Equipped with disc brakes on some models for all-weather power and control.

Rider Profile

With its mix of high performance and durability, CAADX is perfect for cyclocross racers, fast commuters, winter training, or general rough-road riding.

TECHNOLOGIES

  • Relaxed Race Geometry
The CAADX has a slightly taller head tube and slightly slacker head tube angle than the SuperX, providing a more upright position and stable handling.
  • SAVE Stays
The flattened shape and refined butting of the stays offer significant vertical compliance for comfort and control over rough surfaces, while remaining laterally rigid for solid power transfer and confident handling.
  • Smooth Welds
A true smooth weld, rather than the sand, putty, and paint “smooth welds” of our competition. Cannondale’s trademark double-pass smooth weld technology eliminates the stress-risers and weak points found on traditionally-welded frames, enabling us to build lighter, stronger frames.
  • Taper-Butted Tubes
Like the legendary CAAD frames of the past, the CAADX features 6061 aluminum which has been taper-butted and heat-treated to a T6 hardness. The smooth transitions provided by taper-butting eliminate the internal stress risers of traditionally-butted frames, again allowing a lighter, stronger frame.
  • Full Rear Rack/Fender Mount and Front Fender Mounts
Rack and fender compatibilty makes the CAADX ready for duty as a fast commuter or winter training rig.
  • Disk brake equipped
The top model comes with disk brakes for all-weather power and control.

Ok, at 52 I'm now a c+ rider now and looking more to enjoy my rides instead of just beating someone even to the end of the driveway. Which you could do on this thing. Got this baby two and half months ago because of the great value, great parts and great geometry. The shop I deal with steered me toward this model even though they had other higher priced models in stock they talked me into this and even had order this in. Since then I've put almost 800 miles on it. I ride with group of old f#rts up and down the coast of NJ, boardwalks, packed dirt trails, clam shell cover roads, the Highland to Cape Mays. The Sammy Slicks work great in almost everything except really soft sand but I didn't buy this this bike to do that. Riding this bike stock out of the was amazing, took right to it! But I gotta mess with things. One problem I noticed was in a cross wind it was like riding with two time trial full covered disc wheels. Don't understand why but changed them out with a set of Rolf VCX Discs, much better ride anyway, looks better too. Swap the brakes for BB7 more because I had them but they do work good. I also added a Crane Creek Thud Buster short travel seat post which after 40 or 50 miles of dirt roads, turn out to be worth every penny on my old buns. This bike is fun, its fast on the dirt, the street and generally more forgiving than my Madone. Never thought I'd say that.
