Giro d'Italia 2013 Stage 12
Stage Twelve of this year's Giro d'Italia was one of the last chances for the sprinters to shine. The short 134km (83mi) jaunt from Longarone to Treviso was going to be flat and fast and favor a bunch sprint. Mother Nature wanted to give them a little extra work.

Amgen Tour of California Stage 4
With the weather and mountains in check, for a little while at least, the peloton rolled out of Santa Clarita for a 134.6km (83.6mi) stage to Santa Barbara, the fourth of the race. Nominally, this is the reverse of earlier stages that started in Santa Barbara and finished in Santa Clarita, but that was when the race ran north to south.

Amgen Tour of California Stage 3
The Amgen Tour of California's Third Stage, the 177.7km (110mi) ride from Palmdale to Santa Clarita promised a change. First, the temperatures were much more seasonal, starting at a mere 89 degrees Fahrenheit and windy. Second, the stage seemed almost designed for a victory by Cannondale Pro Cycling's Peter Sagan.

With the first week over, the bodies slightly recovered thanks to a rest day, and a mountaintop finish at the end of the race, This Giro's Stage Ten, running 167km (104mi) from Cordenons to Altopiano Del Montasio promised to be one where all the big dogs had to come out and play.

This week-end was the 1st big French enduro event where all the top pilots were attending the Open Enduro Métabief. On saturday we had 4 stages and on Sunday, 1 stage. As usual, Metabief kept its reputation with a muddy and rainy week-end. -

Time trials are a showdown and a shakeout. Everyone rides alone, nobody hides, and at the end, it is clear who has legs and who doesn't. Stage Eight brought the first individual time trial of this year's Giro, a tough 54.8km affair from Gabicce Mare to Saltara.

Blue skies and warm weather greeted the cyclists on the 169km Stage Six, the ride from Mola Di Bari to Margherita Di Savoia. And when the day's breakaway, with Cannondale Pro Cycling's Cameron Wurf and Orica-Greenedge's Jack Bobridge, scooted off the front 15km in, the field gave them ample leash.

After getting soaked and stressed on technical run in to Serra San Bruno yesterday, the riders were looking forward to an easier day in the saddle. The 203km(127mi) ride from Cosenza to Matera, Stage Five, promised a fairly simple, straightforward ride, with only a few lumps at the finish.
