Comments about cannondale F29 CARBON 3:

Where to start? This is my first 29er (upgrading from a 2009 Specialized Hardrock Sport Disc). I'm 6'0" / 150 lbs and ordered the large- the geometry is just right! Even in a large size, I'll just say that with pedals and accessories, the bike weighs closer to 20 than 25 lbs (I know manufacturers don't like to advertise weights ;D).

I've had the bike for a few weeks now and have taken it on several rides already. This bike is UNBELIEVABLY fast and nimble. It climbs like a monster and maintains great momentum during the downhill sections. This is my first Lefty; however, I can't see riding anything else from here on out. The Lefty is stiff, tight, and incredibly nimble.

The carbon frame is quite amazing. The advantage of low weight aside, the frame feels like it has much more flex than the alloy Giant XTC 29ers I've tried. This could be purely psychological, but is especially apparent during rocky downhill sections. I can't claim it rides as soft as a DS rig (never rode one), but can say that in a 29er it's not even comparable to the alloys I've ridden.

The components are topnotch as well. The shifting / derailleurs are tight and responsive (no missed shifting during climbing or double shifting). The 2x10 works EXTREMELY well for the XC I ride: I never even had to shift into 2 in the front. Simply amazing and efficient. The only component I'm iffy about are the Avid brakes. Although you can easily lock up both wheels with just your index fingers, I feel they are weaker compared to the Shimanos I've tried. Keep in mind that outside of demoing, this is my first bike with hydraulic brakes.

In summation, the F29 Carbon 3 is absolutely amazing. The combination of geometry, light weight, having a Lefty, and 2x10 gearing makes this bike efficient and fast fast fast. I've never wanted to hit the trails so aggressively. For all the 29er naysayers, I recommend giving this model a spin; it is extremely efficient during climbing, maintains momentum during downhill sections, and always feels nimble. Outside of buying a Scalpel Carbon 29er for more AM-driven riding (I demo'd one; can you say scary awesome?), I can't see looking for a better XC any time soon.

Comments about cannondale F29 CARBON 3:

This bike is simply amazing. Going from a 26" to a 29er alone is a bike step. This bad-boy rolls over whatever it encounters without hesitation. It is nimble, very quick, light, extremely durable, and comfortable. I've jumped this bike plenty, and the carbon frame and lefty fork set you down lightly, and keep you rolling. For those of you uneasy, or curious about the lefty fork: it is absolutely durable, and super smooth. I must admit, I was hesitant on getting this bike because I like to go off jumps, throw the bike around a bit, etc. The Flash Carbon series can handle what you give it. I'd never buy another mountain bike lacking the lefty fork, or the name of Cannondale!
Take one for a test drive, and see how comfortable this innovative machine is.
