Liquigas-Cannondale's Tim Duggan won the USA Cycling Professional Road Race this past weekend by attacking from a group of five in the closing laps in Greenville, South Carolina. The win is the biggest in his professional career and caps off a brilliant period of form after showing the world his best at the Amgen Tour of California.
"This was one of the most satisfying days of my career," said Duggan. "We had to do everything right and take every opportunity me had. There's only so much we could do with two guys. When the moment was right, go all out and there was no in between," he continued. "You can't look back. And that's what I did."
Teammate Ted King was crucial in the race as well as the pair not only supported each other in the race but also prepared their race efforts without the usual support of their Italian team.
Congratulations to both Timmy and Ted!
