Endless trails, a dreamy mountain panorama and having fun with friends. Ischgl and pre-mium partner Cannondale present the first European Enduro Open from 13th to 15th Sep-tember 2013. The event will not only attract the fastest Enduro Riders from the continent to compete, but it’s also everything a single trail fan would ever want!

At the 1st Ischgl Overmountain Challenge, along with endurance and skill, it’s all about having fun on the endless singletrails with friends, like-minded people and stars from the biking scene. The Silvretta Bike Arena between Ischgl and Swiss Samnaun provides a sheer unlimited range of opportunities to do just that. Trails as far as the eye can see. The competition mode at this MTB-Enduro event is simple and promises maximum fun on the trails. For assessing your performance there are specific time measurement areas on certain sections of the trail, and it is these which will prove decisive. This means you get pedal in relaxed fashion uphill, or use Ischgl’s cable car facilities. You can take your time and talk shop about the legendary singletrails and their key sections or simply enjoy the impressive mountains in the Silvretta – at least until the start of the next test, where each person has to complete their own personal singletrail race against the clock. At the end of the Enduro circuit times from specific test sections are combined and a winner will be named.

European Enduro Open with the scene’s top riders

The European Enduro Open is open to anyone who wants to take part in the Ischgl Overmountain Challenge and offers every keen rider the opportunity to enjoy high Alpine trails during a week-end with the stars of the scene. Top stars such as Jérôme Clementz and Dan Atherthon have al-ready confirmed that they will be taking part; ultimately what we’re looking at is the fastest En-duro riders on the continent. Other top international athletes, along with those who ride Enduros for fun are expected at this top-class sporting event in the Silvretta Bike Arena.

The Enduro Mecca, Ischgl

Ischgl has long been a hot-spot for bikers – and in particular for Enduro tours. All cable cars transport bikers – this also creates the optimal conditions for a first-rate Enduro event with lots of metres descent. Jérôme Clementz wants to get an idea of what it’s all about himself and has al-ready agreed to the 1st Ischgl Overmountain Challenge. ‘I’ve never been to Ischgl, but I hear it’s a paradise for bikers - high mountains, great trails and picturesque scenery. I am already looking forward to spending some time there and to the Ischgl Overmountain Challenge. Cannondale is supporting great riders and events with their Overmountain products and I am proud to be able to be a part of the new project’, explained Jérôme Clementz.

Timetable – two days characterised by single trails

The Ischgl Overmountain Challenge starts on 13th September 2013 with a riders meeting and a welcome party. The following day the Enduro circuit is open for inspection. This means that those taking part have the opportunity to investigate the special test sections in their own time. The serious stuff starts on the Saturday evening when the starting sequence for the actual race is decided. During a sprint race through Ischgl town centre, the stars of the scene do battle for those sought-after front starting positions; however non-pros get to bathe in the applause from the many spectators too. It all then starts on Sunday for the Enduro riders, with the first Ischgl Overmoun-tain Challenge. Start and finish for the challenge is Ischgl town centre. The winner of the Europe-an Enduro Open will also be chosen here after the race.
