California SB 1215 Recycling Fee
Information for our California customers
Effective January 1, 2026, products that contain embedded batteries will be subject to a “Covered Battery-Embedded Product Recycling Fee in California, mandated by Senate Bill (SB) 1215. A “Covered Battery-Embedded Product” is defined as any product containing a battery that is not designed to be easily removed by the user of the product with commonly used household tools.
All Cannondale e-bikes will now include this fee when sold to CA customers.
Fee responsibilities
The recycling fee will be collected at checkout for orders to California. The California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery determines the amount of the fee.
